Currently my data resides in a back-end Access MDB file, and my front-end application (Access2002) links to the back-end data. Is it possible to host the data online in a secure area of my website so that my front-end database can link with the data online rather than through the current LAN environment? I want to be able to access my latest, current data at all times, over the internet, whether I am at home, or at the office.
As I work with the data using my Access2002 front-end, I want to ensure that all changes are automatically made to the back-end data online. If for some reason I am working in an environment that does not have web access, I would like my front-end to connect to a local copy of the data on my hard drive or LAN, but in that case, I be able to view the data only, but not make changes since I am working only with a copy of the data, not the data itself.
I hope I have described this job well enough.
