**_*Solving a Polynomial Using Excel*_**
Use Excel Spreadsheet to plot the graph of the polynomial
y = 3*x*4 + 5*x*³ - 10*x*² + 4*x*- 10
for ??"4 ≤ *x* ≤ 3.2 with a step value of 0.4.
From your graph show that there are just two roots in this interval.
You will now identify these roots correct to three places of decimal
Concentrate on just one root at a time.
Use a finger grid (ie smaller step Value) in the neighbourhood of one of the roots retabulate and replot the graph.
Using this new plot choose a more suitable interval and an even finer grid.
Retabulate and replot the graph of the polynomial.
Repeat this process of retabulating and plotting a suitable number of times to find this root correct to three decimal places.
The work should be well documented with the tabulated values and graphs at each finer grid chosen together with a summary at each of these stages indicating what the next step will be. Finally when you have identified the root correct to 3 decimal places use *Goal seek* to verify result.
For the second root it will be sufficient to tabulate the polynomial in the neighbourhood of this second root with a step value corresponding to you **final Step Value** Used in determining the previous root. Plot the graph over a suitable subset of these tabulated values and identify your root correct to three decimal places.
Use *Goal Seek* to verify your solution.
(**I need a copy displaying the formulae used in the tabulated values required for the graphs)**
