I am looking to create a website mainly for college students and employers who are looking to post internships and entry level jobs. I already have purchased and installed a job board theme that requires some customizations. [login to view URL] [login to view URL] students respond to custom questions that the employer asks when they apply for a job. [login to view URL] students complete a profile based upon fields that they can fill in the blank to make it quick and easy for them to build their profile to get discovered by employers. [login to view URL] an employer be able to search a database of students and invite students that they think are a good match for their job to apply. [login to view URL] now a company can build a very basic profile page. I want them to be able to having multiple photos, videos, and text in order to better showcase the company. [login to view URL] a student or the employer sign into the website they can message each other and receive notifications. [login to view URL] and candidates would be displayed in a grid format instead of having the user have to scroll down the page. [login to view URL] employer can search for students based upon GPA, major, location, etc...

Hello, As JobBoard is a main theme. I believe I can do these customizations without tweaking over the cores. I can override the template and add/tweak functionalities, appearance, and other things which make it easier. Wordpress also equipped with their own media editor. This supposed to make multiple media upload more convenience. So that the company can be able to upload multiple media to their showcase page. Some free plugin offers messaging and notification. Instead making a custom made system. Integrate existing plugin with current theme is an answer. The free plugin is better than custom made messaging and notification system which not specially made. As for other customizations like database manipulation, its can be done through an additional child theme function. With this way of customization. You don't have to worry if sometime the jobboard theme got an update. You can update with the newest features without losing the customizations.
