Joomla Component jDownloads Requires Modification

I have a Joomla website with the component jDownloads. Large categories (8K records) are very slow to load. Small categories (1k records) are much faster. I understand that the database size difference can impact page load speed. I need the jDownloads component modified to Improve the Page Load Speed. Below, are 2 example category pages. The "watch-faces" category takes over 10 seconds to load. It contains around 8k records. The second example "watch-tutorials" is a very small category. [login to view URL] [login to view URL] The database and/or the queries within the component are creating significant "wait" time. The host for my dedicated server (iWeb) ran several tests recently to help me determine why the website was so slow on those large category pages. They determined 2 things that were suggested by them: 1. Optimize Database (they suggested a database professional) 2. Optimize jDownloads Queries As they do not provide software support, the iWeb support team was certain that these 2 items were my issue. The iWeb Systems Admin assured me that this issue is a direct result of the query of jDownloads and the setup of the database & indexing/re-indexing of the database. The Cache system of Joomla instantly solves this unless you are the lucky first viewer and still have to wait the over 10 seconds to load. Cache also created numerous issues for logged in members. They were seeing cached pages of other members pages. So Cache is not a viable option as the site is dynamic and changing frequently.
