Translate Jokes into Portuguese

A job translating jokes into Portuguese from English. it's approximately 1820 sentences, which is quite a lot, and will take some time. The person who does this work, should actually like hearing jokes, and appreciate that not everything is funny to everyone, but you'll try to make it funny as you translate it. Younger people have labelled any spoken joke-telling as "Dad Jokes", as if it's something that older people do that younger people reject. If you are like that, please don't try to get this job. An element of humor is usually a surprise ending. Some jokes depend on an English word having 2 or more meanings. You get to the end and realize the meaning of the word is different than you assumed at first. But when translating to a non-English language, it's unlikely that the word will have the same 2 or more meanings. So a joke may need to be deleted, if it can't be re-written. Here are a few examples: - "Always wear a suit to a job interview, otherwise, how will the potential employer know you like swimming. ( the business suit, and the swimming suit. if that doesn't translate well, and if you can't think of a substitution to save the joke, then it gets deleted ) - "I have this weird talent where I can tell what's inside a wrapped present. It's a gift.", ( "gift" has 2 meanings, a talent and a present. it may not translate, maybe there is a substitution possible.) Some jokes are cultural reference to North American English TV and Movies. As a translator, you may not recognize them as such, and think it's not funny. This work is for a software project called "Talking Moose". The Moose speaks the jokes. You will need to have a texteditor that can create UTF-8 unicode text. If you don't have one, UltraEdit has a free trial. You will receive a text file containing the jokes, you will edit that file, and send it back when done.
