Control servos in 2 modes

I need to be able to control 4 servomotors using arduino UNO . Write the positions, read the positions after manually setting them. store the values of the postions into a python dictionary.
The machine works in 2 modes
1. Auto
I send the positions of all the 6 motors in a dict to arduino. example {moto1:100,moto2:120,moto3:140,moto4:160}
Arduino sends the commands to the motors and sets the positions.
2. Train.
I move the motor to a particular position and then send a "read" command.
all the motors postion are read and stored into a python dict....
