We will send over samples of the product to the winning bidder to allow them to fully understand the product.
The video should be 2-3 minutes long with possible 3D animation dependent on your ideas and previous experience.
Please send over examples of your work so we can understand your style(s).
Here are the guidelines for creating the video:
Creating a Pitch-Ready Video
1. Open With A Bang
Capture your audience’s attention immediately. Be compelling and capture your viewers’ attention.
2. Keep It Brief
Nothing loses a viewer’s interest like a long drawn out video. The statistics show that the optimum video length is 2 minutes. Pitches with a video length over that are less likely to reach their funding goal. Viewers have short attention spans, so get to the heart of your idea right away.
3. Make It Professional
We strongly recommend that you seek professional help to produce your video. The video is the most important part of your pitch and needs to convince people to support your pitch. Invest the time and make the commitment to ensure it is up to quality standards. In short, there is no reason to skimp on the quality of your video, especially when you’re hoping to raise a significant amount of funding.
4. Presentation
It is important to show yourself off within the video. You are the person investors are counting on to use their funds and make the business work. Do not look around but pitch to the camera as if you are talking to a person who wants to help you. Your body language should come across as confident and passionate so relax, sit up straight and smile.
5. Use Images
Keep the video moving and do not show the same shot for the entire video. You need to cut to different shots every five to ten seconds to show off your products and capture your idea. It is also easier to edit the video and takes off the pressure of filming in one take.
6. Do Not Make Financial Promotions
You MUST NOT make a financial promotion anywhere in your pitch. To comply with FCA regulations whilst allowing anyone who visits our site to watch your video, you must not say anything such as, “We are looking for £250K for 20% of the business,” or even use words such as, ‘invest,’ ‘equity’ or ‘shares’. If you do we cannot show your video and will be forced to ask you to amend it.
Other things you should consider within your video are:
Intro: Whatever happens, you are guaranteed that anyone who views your video will see the intro. Your intro should grab their attention and describe your whole concept in as few words and visuals as possible.
Idea: You need to explain simply and clearly what your business is about and what problem it solves.
Team: You need to mention the key people in the business and why they are best placed to take it forward.
Market: It should demonstrate who the target market is and how they will be reached.
Unique: What is your unique selling point or unfair advantage? This question should be answered clearly in the video and reveal what sets the business apart from its competitors and how customers will benefit.
Competitors: Your video should be unique and highlight strengths that your competitors either do not have or have left out. Your USP should be clearly seen throughout the video pitch and should convince your audience that you are the ideal business to invest in.
Close: End with an immediate call to action. Whilst you cannot make a financial promotion or mention investing, you can use the phrases, "Support us now," or "We need your help".
