We are looking for a translator who can translate English romance books into German for us. The texts are about 30,000 words long. The result should read like a 100% perfect native and flawless German romance story, preserving the original writer’s voice. We pay 0,01 USD per word (so about 300 USD for the entire text). Qualifications: - Must be able to deliver high quality work only - Must have an eye for detail and perfection - Must be able to deliver fast - Must be a NATIVE German speaker with excellent grammar and spelling To ensure that you have read the entire job posting, please start your application with the title of your favorite book. You are asked to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal: - How much time would you require to translate the text? - What type of translations do you have experience with (genre, fiction, nonfiction, etc.)? I come from book publishing, so I will tell you right away that your rate of USD 0,01 will get you google-translate from a non-native speaker, without as much as glancing at it for proofreading. The real world price for fiction translation - by a human - starts at EUR 0,06 per word. Which is the lowest offer I can make you. My translation experience includes Libretti for the Salzburg Festival, and several books, from academia to fiction and poetry, in short: I am overqualified to work for what you offer - which are USD 4 / Euro 3 per hour. Because a good translator who is capable of offering your list of requirements for FICTION, into German at that, cannot do more than 400 words per hour (including proofreading.)
