Signal waveform extraction in the presence of regular and random noise

Biosciences Biotechnology Research Asia
The paper focuses on the problem of the signal waveform extraction in the presence of random and regular noise. The principal component analysis has been proposed to extract the waveform. Assuming that the analyzed signal in the recorded sequence is repeated with a certain periodicity, several portions containing the analyzed signal can be extracted using the "caterpillar" method.

Structural approach to the inverse problems of computational diagnostics in cardiology

Biology and Medicine
The methods to identify the structural invariants of the evolving test object using projection data are offered within the framework of the group-theoretical statistical approach. The essence of the inverse reconstructive problem within the structural approach is investigated. The features of the inverse problems arising in the study of developing open system are discussed.

Analysis of the effect of filtering elements on EEG and EMG

Biology and Medicine
Filtering elements in measuring devices, as well as in medical apparatus, significantly affect the quality of the obtained data. The problem of the filter effect on measuring results has been solved by computer simulation of the filtration process. The filtering influence effect on the obtained bioelectrical signals without filtering was analyzed.

Extraction of a low-amplitude component orthogonal to the recorded cardiac impulse

European Journal of Physical and Health Education
The problem of the cardiac signal extraction from a low-amplitude high-frequency component invisible on conventional electrocardiography (ECG) is considered. We have proposed the method to extract the orthogonal high-amplitude and low-amplitude components from the recorded cardiac pulse sequence in the form of the first two components of the matrix singular decomposition composed of a set of cardiac pulses.

Development of fiber optic current sensor

Advanced Materials Research
Current measuring high-precision methods and devices are one of the most important modern engineering development lines in optimal energy consumption sphere. However, there are a few small-sized instruments which allow conducting precision measurements without breaking the circuit. This paper presents information about conducted Faraday Effect research and general construction of the simple fiber optic current sensor (FOCS).

Computer simulation of cardiac electrical activity

Advanced Materials Research
The problems related to cardiovascular diseases are considered. The method to solve some of the problems has been proposed. We also consider a two-component Aliev-Panfilov model and the algorithm of the hardware- software complexes. The obtained results are presented.

Electrodynamic model of the heart to detect necrotic areas in a human heart

Biology and Medicine
The problem of the cardiovascular system diagnostics is caused by a complex multi-level mechanism of its functioning, and only experienced specialists are able to establish a correct diagnosis. Since the working heart is inaccessible to direct observations in real life, diagnostics of diseases is based on noninvasive methods such as electrocardiography. By assumption, weak "bursts" (micropotentials) of electrocardiographic signals in different areas are the precursors of dangerous arrhythmias.

Neuro-fuzzy modelling and control of multistage dynamic processes

Journal of Theoretical and Applied Information Technology
This requires using a model that combines properties of the difference, switched, and neuro-fuzzy models with a large number of inputs and a big memory depth of each input. Such model will take into account all uncertainties, converting input actions into fuzzy processes by means of fuzzification, and will precisely reflect the multistage nature and dynamics of the object being studied. However, a large number of parameters can significantly complicate its configuration.

Methods of noninvasive electrophysiological heart examination

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering
The article represents the main noninvasive methods of heart electrical activity examination, theoretical bases of solution of electrocardiography inverse problem, application of different methods of heart examination in clinical practice, and generalized achievements in this sphere in global experience.

Electroneuromyograph

MATEC Web of Conferences
The present article describes the methods of muscle electroneuromyographic study. The analysis of the existing electroneuromyographic diagnostic unit configurations commercially available at Russian and foreign markets is executed. Its functional layout and main characteristics are considered. The present article focuses on the use of more sensitive equipment for better human body study. The results of measurements executed by means of unit developed are provided.

Excitation model of pacemaker cardiomyocytes of cardiac conduction system

Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Myocardium includes typical and atypical cardiomyocytes - pacemakers, which form the cardiac conduction system. Excitation from the atrioventricular node in normal conditions is possible only in one direction. Retrograde direction of pulses is impossible. The most important prerequisite for the work of cardiomyocytes is the anatomical integrity of the conduction system.

Use of silver nanoparticles in treatment of socially significant diseases

Key Engineering Materials
Studies of silver-based drugs acting against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms are of significant scientific and practical interest. Silver does not effect on the infection, but directly on the cell structure. The main disadvantages of the current nanosilver-based compositions include low aggregative stability, polydispersity and oxidation of silver nanoparticles during prolonged storage.

Impact of filtration elements on bioelectrical signal

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering
Filtering of the wanted signal from the noise caused by power lines, magnetic pickup, interference from body movement, etc. in the field of medical data processing is a weighty problem of cardiography. To date, different types of digital filters have been used to clear the signal from unnecessary frequency bands. This paper presents the results of the filter simulation in MATLAB package.

Integrative Modeling of Electrical Properties of Pacemaker Cardiac Cells

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering
This work represents modeling of electrical properties of pacemaker (sinus) cardiac cells. Special attention is paid to electrical potential arising from transmembrane current of Na+, K+ and Ca2+ ions. This potential is calculated using the NaCaX model. In this respect, molar concentration of ions in the intercellular space which is calculated on the basis of the GENTEX model is essential. Combined use of two different models allows referring this approach to integrative modeling.
