System for assessing the presence of passengers in vehicles

The system for assessing the presence of passengers in vehicles relies on simple algorithm that in a certain way compares acceleration intensities (measured by android sensors, through sampling) of the vehicle and the passengers. The average acceleration intensity of the vehicle during certain amount of time is used to determine if passenger is still in the vehicle or if he has left the vehicle. The system represents proof of concept (POC). Idea is that the user interaction, with the payment system of any transit system, goes automatically. To detect in which vehicle the passenger entered (bus or tram number, line number) and on which station user exited, to properly charge the fee for that ride (number of stations). Developed with the use of: HTML, JS, PHP, Java, Android (sensors), MySQL Picture 3: Simple android app (POC). a) Vehicle in a stand still, b) Vehicle in motion, c) Passenger still in vehicle, d) Passenger out of the vehicle, e) Ticket paid
