I'm working on a website that will display all walks & hikes in New Zealand.

My idea so far: A very flat design, not a deep hierarchy. When you land on the site, you immediately see the most popular walks and a map. There are filter options to filter on region, grade, length, place, etc. Perhaps those filters on the left/right. See "homepage idea.png" for an idea I had myself, but please feel free to come up with a better idea!

Every walk has a carousel/single image, and a short description.

Very important is the map that displays all the walks that match the current filter. Can drill down to track details from the map easily.

Also of course needs a header/footer with the standard links. I don't have a logo yet.
