Add/Delete/Update Fix on existing site

I have an existing site that I did not develop. The problem is that I cannot successfully Add, Delete or Update records in the database. I also need to include an 'Upload File' code to upload images to a specific location on the server which also resizes the image.
The code just needs to be cleaned up and checked for small errors I believe.
PLEASE NOTE: I am having trouble with only 1 page at the moment. I think for an experienced Coldfusion developer it would take about 20mins to find and fix the problem.
There will more than likely be other 'small' jobs relating to this site.
