You are to design an 8-bit ALU that takes two signed 8-bit numbers and based upon the opcode

specified by s2s1s0 performs one of the following functions

The function Set on Less than performs the following function

If A < B then result =1 otherwise result = 0

Your ALU also should have an output that is one whenever the result is equal to zero.

Please answer the following questions:

 What is the height of your bit cell?

 What is the total size of the design?

 What is the critical path for your design? Show the necessary inputs to exercise the critical

path.

 What is the total delay for your design?

You should turn in the magic layouts for each of your subcells and the circuit diagrams for them. For

determining the critical path please turn in the IRSIM results for the circuit failing to operate at a delay

just smaller than the critical path, and a simulation showing the circuit functioning correctly at the

critical delay
