I'm building a brand for a premium travel shop - Atlas Travellers - first online, then on the high street. Kind of like National Geographic, but for grown ups. My target audience is travellers, not tourists: people, young or old, who want to explore the world for themselves, not follow well-trodden routes arranged by big name tour operators. There will be premium travel, world and lifestyle products from around the world, as well as quality globes and maps, and handmade lifestyle products for the home.
I need a traditional, minimalist logo that reflects the joint brand values of premium and quality, as well as wanderlust and nostalgia for old maps and famous explorers. I am particularly inspired by a number of these: [login to view URL], so something which reflects the brand I have described but which would fit into this list, that's what I'm looking for.
One key element is that although I am looking for something clean and minimalist, we're not a tech company; I want to appeal to an older audience, to fit in amongst other premium brands. Examples of this include: [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] So the successful design needs to fit into the list mentioned, with that heritage, premium feel.
The attached file is our existing design. It is ok, but a little static, a little too old fashioned.
Needless to say, copyright of the winning design is included in the fee.
