Purpose
Create a marketing and community engagement website that:
1. Gives access via simple redirect to an online real-time news management and delivery application.
2. Drives community members to sign up for a free trial and take a subscription
3. Attracts subscribers by providing key targeted news stories (RSS fed from the 3rd party news app) that are easy to read, share with other individuals/applications
4. Builds community value to subscribers by enabling discussion with other subscribed experts
Successful Freelancer
Will provide in their replies:
1. Clear examples of creating a community website and/or news aggregator or feed
2. Suggest by example specific design features that would ensure the purpose is met.
3. Demonstrate ways that their proposal improves upon the brief below by including extra features for the quote
Design
Template should be clean, clear and comparable to news website such as [login to view URL]
General setup - Header, top horizontal banner ad, iframe, Footer, RHS column (Google Ads, Newsletter signup, top 5 most commented)
Pages
Homepage – generic plus iframe that displays 15 stories from an RSS newsfeed. Each story will have Title, source, date and time, Start of text, more…
Story - Story will open in a new window. Reader can comment if a subscriber. Other subscribers can comment on the story as well. Set alerts on stories they comment on. Subscribers can share the commented story on social media.
Sub topic page – approx. X 15, different RSS feed but same features as Homepage.
Features – generic page with text and graphics highlighting features of news application
Support – online knowledge base, articles can be added for how to etc. Viewers can vote Helpful or Not Helpful and if Not then can submit feedback on what needs to be improved.
Blog – company employees can create articles and subscribers can comment and discuss.
Community – collection of stories that the community are currently discussing
Term of Use – generic and text
Privacy – generic and text
Newsletter Sign up
User can subscribe to a weekly newsletter and can join the online community to enable them to comment on stories etc.
