Adobe Illustrator CS6 - Vector Objects Alignment Script

We are in need of a utility that will automate the process of aligning vector objects based on certain parameters. We currently do this process manually.
Currently, the process goes as follows:
1. Typically, we start with 50-150 vector objects
2. The objects are then separated into groups by colors (~20 colors). Each of the 20 colors has multiple designated artboards for that color.
3. Each artboard is 11.3" x 36". The objects are arranged to provide at least 0.5" between each design. Orientation does not matter. All that matters is that the similarly colored objects are optimally arranged within the artboard dimensions and have that little 0.5" spacing.
I have attached screenshots to show some examples of the process. We are interested in hearing thoughts from anyone who feels confident in the task of coding this utility.
What we need from you, is a script that is compatible with Adobe Illustrator CS6, that will automate all of the steps outlined above.
