Debugging sleeping connection with mySQL/optimize mySQL

I am having alot of problem with my site [login to view URL] loading times. After consulting my server tech guys i was made to understand the problem is stemming from MYSQL and PHP processes sleeping which in terms causing a lag and killing my server. Please see a sample response below, if anyone can help let me know . Thanks
