We intend to award a contract for the development of a web-based IS for the issuance and tracking of backcountry and special use permits for climbers. Users will be: management, assistants, law enforcment, and the public.
The non-public users will be located at two locations. ? The public users will access the system via the web.
System system should be stable ad operational 4-5 months after the bid is awarded.
We are required to keep track of all people or groups that climb this mountain as well as log any cost recovery, expedition timing, route info, and climbing experience. Public users are required to obtain a special use permit that will go under a review? process? prior to approval.? The basic expedition information is requested to place each climber in the appropriate expedition, know when the climb will begin, when the group would become overdue, which route they were climbing, and which transportation the arrived and would be leaving with in case they left without checking back.
? Public users will have to be able to apply online and pay through a current online payment gateway. No other types of permits would be issued through the online part of the system. Staff will access the system via an intranet.
The current climber tracking program created mid-90's resides in a Access 2003 on a windows xp network drive.
We will also need a proposed cost structure for annual ongoing maintenance issues including testing the application against minor/major upgrades to underlying technology stack on the test and production environments and enhancements to the system functionality.
