Build tailored eCommerce website (on Wordpress ideally)

We are expanding our channels to online retailing for tailor made clothing. Our site will need to provide an extremely clean, simple, easy customer experience where they can manipulate a multitude of options (e.g. fabric, style, buttons, pockets etc etc) and purchase their newly designed items. The website should be:
- Clean and simple: It should look great, feel great and provide the customer a smooth experience every time. The website should look elegant and distinguished and professional for an Australian/American audience.
- Easily manipulatable by non-techies (content, pictures)
- Scalable: i.e. adaptable to growth in the future - changing layouts, formats, checkout options
Your responsibilities would include:
- Reviewing design of competitor's websites and conceptualising the best features/functions/designs that would ensure ours looks better
- Conceptualize, design, and develop the User Interface/User Experience as well as the overall look and feel of templates and webpages
- Create designs including sketches, visual design mockups, visual assets and documentation required for proper implementation
- Build website to a set of agreed deadlines and budget
- Incorporate user interface design standards across the website, as needed
The successful applicant should have:
- An eye for design and a compelling proposition for elegant ecommerce design (proven through your portfolio)
- Be able to reiterate until a perfect output is produced
- Demonstrated experience with Wordpress a plus
- Experience with HTML, CSS, AJAX, jQuery a plus
- Ability to work with constructive criticism as well as adhere to deadlines
- A work style that is extremely detail oriented
