2. OVERVIEW OF WEBSITE REQUIREMENTS

- Must be built for Wordpress.

- Must have cross-browser compatibility (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera).

- Must validate to W3C specifications.

3. STYLE AND LAYOUT

This is a site whose purpose is to education others on being eco friendly. It is meant to be a blog, with a couple pages that contain resources for those looking to learn more about being eco friendly and energy efficient.

For this site, please create an “earth friendly” theme.

Some themes that you can take inspiration from:

Note that the theme you create should be your own theme, not one of the two listed above. Those links are provided to show ideas of a “eco friendly” design. Also, please use blues and greens in the style, rather than the yellowish-green shown in the greenleaf template. Please avopid using very dark tones and colors.

Common page elements:

- Header: Something that fits with the “eco friendly”, “environmental”, “energy efficient” idea of this site. Include the title of the site in the header: “The Eco Friendly Education Blog”.

- Navigation: Navigation will include links to 6 pages, “Recycling Information & Resources”, “How to Be Energy Efficient at Home”, “Vehicle Energy Efficiency”, “Sustainability Information & Resources”, “Environmentally Friendly Cleaning” and “Helping Kids Learn to be Energy Efficient”. A link back to the home page should be supplied as well. It should be obvious which page the user is on in the navigation.

- Footer: A typical footer should be included. If you use any creative commons images that need credit, this credit can be included in the footer.

Feel free to include images as it fits the layout and theme. You may also include images as you feel appropriate throughout the site. When choosing images, be sure to use images with the appropriate permissions/copyrights, such as Creative Commons for from a stock image website. Any credit needed for images can be placed in the footer.

5. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Deadline: 6 business days from acceptance date.

While in development, you will host the site on your server.

When the site is complete and approved, you will provide us with all source files.

We will set up the site on our server - when the site is working properly on our server the project will be complete.
