Data we need:
First name
Organization NickName (ex: AXO, ZBT, DG, SDT OR Sigma Chi, Theta, Pi Kapp) On their website, it will usually say what their nickname is
Email Address
Target Schools (first 10):
University of Wisconsin (Madison)
University of Alabama
Louisiana State University (LSU)
North Dakota State
Florida International University
UC San Diego
Michigan State University
University of Texas (Austin)
University of Florida
University of Michigan
Process:
#1 Find student directory for target school
Type in google: “{School Name} Student directory”
Most schools will have a directory that will let you type in a student’s name and it will give you their email. This will help for finding some email addresses quickly later
#2 Go to website dedicated to College Groups for target school, find list of Fraternities or Sororities at the school
For fraternities, you will type in google: “{School Name} IFC fraternities”
For sororities, you will type in google: “{School Name} Panhellenic sororities”
You should now be able to see a list of the organizations at that college
#3 One by one, click on each organization. For each organization, this is what you do:
Once you click, there will be option to either
a) You can see the “Executive board” or ‘E-board’ or leaders names
or
b) Option to go to fraternity website.
Option A is what we want. But not all of the school IFC websites will have their names, so we will have do some searching on the organization’s website (option b)
Note: make sure that the website is updated with recent / current members. If you can’t tell, don’t worry, just do it anyways.
If a), then you can put their name into student directory, search, and you will have the data
We mainly want the “recruitment chair”, “New member coordinator,” “President,” “Vice-President”
If b), we will have to go to their website and find the names of their ‘executive board’ or leaders. Sometimes, their emails will be there. If not, use student directory.
Finding the names can be hard sometimes. You will have to search around the website.
