Simple Wordpress Module

I want a module allowing me to display a category search box on homepage with ajax auto completion. The item that can be selected are only sub-categories (parent to be selected in admin). The user will type some word and get suggestion of categories then he will be redirected to the category page. Some module exists already but it is with dropdown list. With almost 300 items drop down is not efficient.
