We need to have designed one application icon for an iPhone application, and three navigation icons for switching from one frame to another inside the app.

We are building a dictionary application targetted to the Romanian market. More details regarding the product you can find at [login to view URL]
For the application icon, the standard Apple requirements must be met. The icon should be provided and tested in two sizes, besides the source of course. If the designer doesn't have the resources to test the icon on the actual device (iPhone, iPod Touch), we can assist with that.
First size:
- 57 px square
- 72 ppi, RGB, flattened, no transparency
- 24 bit PNG image file format
Second size:
- 512 px square
- 72 ppi, RGB, flattened, no transparency
- High quality JPEG or TIFF image file format
Please note that according to Apple requirements, you shouldn't add the shining effect as that it is being applied by iPhone OS (the top to bottom effect).
The icon should be "iPhone style": square, rounded corners. We are thinking of a closed book with an old, rugged aspect. The words iDEX should be on it. One idea is to modify the "i" tail to cut through or underline the word DEX. Over the lower part of the icon a layer with the word "LITE" should cover the icon, but not the text. The icon should look good with and without this layer. We prefer for the icon to have a bit of 3D style, like the iPhone contacts standard icon.
The designer should advise on colors and improving the design in general.
We also need three small icons, that should look good at the following size:
- 32 px square
- 72 ppi, RGB, with transparency
- 24 bit PNG image file format
Please take a look at the attached in-app pictures. From left to right, the three icons are for:
1. Search/Choose source dictionary
2. History
3. Update
We don't have design ideas for these, we are open for suggestion. Please bear in mind that this is a dictionary application, and it should fit in the current design.
