I need to take a large XML file and insert the content into a MySQL database. Ideally I'd like a small piece of java or php code to do this that I can configure a mapping in a text/config file without recompiling.
e.g. XML tag abc123 maps to db col xyz

That's pretty easy. There are packages that parse java. I've been doing this sort of work for 5 years in PHP and 8 years in Java. You could use a config file too.
