I have a multi-domain ( 5 domains) website which was developed using Symfony framework. The website allows a particular page to be accessed on any of these 5 domains. For example, '[url removed, login to view]' can also be accessed on '[url removed, login to view]'.
The website also has a blog, developed in Wordpress which is installed as a subdomain only on the main domain i.e. '[url removed, login to view]'.
The website is a membership site and is over 10 years old. Over time, search engines have indexed tens of thousands of pages. It has now been decided that the website will be shutdown. Considering this, I would like to make sure that all indexed pages are preserved from displaying 404.
The main [url removed, login to view] file will be replaced by an [url removed, login to view] file where a notice will be displayed telling users that the website has been shut down. All pages from all domains will be redirected to the [url removed, login to view] file. Remember, a page on domain1 can also be viewed on domain2. Pages from [url removed, login to view] will also be redirected [url removed, login to view] but on doman1 only.
It is proposed that the above is achieved by using redirect and or rewrite modules in htaccess files. Two htaccess files will be required, one for the Symfony folder and the other for Wordpress folder.
The directory path for the Symfony website homepage/public_html/web/.
The above path is also for the main domain, domain1.com.
The other domains are hosted on this path:
homepage/public_html/domain2/
homepage/public_html/domain3/
homepage/public_html/domain4/ etc
The directory path for the blog is homepage/public_html/blog/
The candidate will be provided with copies of the existing htaccess files.
The candidate will be required to provode the solution and also undertake testing to make sure that the testing is working.
The candiate is required to have experince in:
1. PHP
2. Htaccess
3. Shell scripting.
Candidates will be required to provide evidence of similar previous work.
