I got 1T Nvme C drive and 2T HDD on Alienware Area 51M R2
my issues are;
1. create a symlink from the install path to C drive to D or E drive to save on storage on C and for safeguard for possible reinstall carried out reliably (currently, Visual Studio and Unity packages installation are the main issue).
2. Rearrange the C/D partition so that I can install WSL 2 or Ubuntu as a dual os on this machine
3. keep your work documented for future reference (hard/soft symlink or use of profile script to automate these issue fixes)
my budget: max usd 50 (if you fix my issues relating to a new machine install)
The attached image reflects my current state. and I want to use C for Windows only... so any other install/downloads etc should be either on D or E if it's a program, maybe D.. if it's data such as downloads/update etc, then preferrable on E.

I saw similar suggestions in stack overflow threads.
here's one of bidders suggestion (thanks Sebastian):
TO install and use Visual Studio, you have to install it on C drive. Because it installs so many modules, so VS may cause errors if you install on other drive (D or other).
And I think 132GB of C Drive is small for current use. You have to enlarge the C drive as much as possible.
You can install Unity and Android SDK into another drive than C.
If you want to install Ubuntu as second OS, it is better to install it on the second disk (different disk from the windows-installed disk ) because boot program can confuse on both OS if you install Ubuntu in the same disk with Windows.
When you use WSL, you can run an Ubuntu image on your Windows.
