I am the editor of a monthly trade association magazine that covers the retail home furnishings industry from the furniture retailer's perspective. We are looking for writers to handle assigned stories covering the industry. Stories range in length from 1,300 to 1,400 or 1,800 to 2,000 words. The writer will meet with me over the course of the year to discuss the stories and subjects to be interviewed. The writer is also responsible for compiling images from various manufacturers and sending them with the story. We pay $250 to $290 per story. Ideally, we are looking for someone with home furnishings and/or retail writing experience. This is NOT a design position. We are looking for writers to cover the business side or retail furniture. A minimum of 3 years of writing/reporting experience is required.
