Technofirm is into selling all kinds of software solutions.Technofirm used to maintain their customer database and communication records in emails and MS Excel sheets. Everything confidential on the customer was dumped on those sheets, from quotations to follow-up date deliverables etc. that anyone could access. Senior management wisely decided to restrict this kind of easy, unlimited, unauthorized access to their confidential customer database. They were aware of the potential risk of an employee breach and leakage of their sensitive data to competition. They wanted to make their customer database completely secure

Data Security

The client had desktops with installed server OS on it for different applications, such as Email, Data Storage, Active Directory etc. Their hardware is out dated and in need of upgrades to execute more complex functions. Their employees had persistent complaints of slow processing.

We studied their requirements. We understood their constraints and recommended a dual processor- based server with entry level SAN (Storage Area Network) box. The Appuno team helped install the freeware VMWare VSphere 4.1 server on it. We also installed Email and Active Directory Server on a virtual platform on it. Finally, we configured the SAN box for storing data and Virtual Images of the server installed.

Hardware Virtualization

The client does job work on precision parts. They received drawing and material for getting a job done. They wanted to share these drawings through a secure IT environment.
Problem Statement:
How to share document with users online, so they could refer to drawings that were constantly being updated based on the customer feedback
Archiving all old drawings for quick referring, when needed
Tracking discussion history with the customer at each drawing stage
Sharing discussions and idea via a common platform
Tracking job orders with calendars sheets to monitor progress on every assigned job
Send email when any document was uploaded or modified to the developers/manufacture During our discussions with the client, the Appuno developer team figured out that the present users were well-versed with manual tracking of drawings and referring to the work order. To get them to switch to an online system and demonstrating the key advantages to them was therefore a little challenging.
