## BIO
After working for flight simulation companies as an electrical engineer from 1990 to 1996, I started eMDee Technology, Inc. in 1997 and my wife joined me in 2000. Throughout the years we have worked on many projects of different sizes in the field of military simulation and training. We have managed to grow a solid business that is well regarded in our industry.
Our expertise is in aural cues, audio networking, and radio communication simulation. The projects that we have worked on have allowed us to work in many different disciplines from software to electronics to manufacturing. Working on different things each day is one of the things that I enjoy most about working in this field.
## Area of Expertise
**Software**
* Our flagship product was written in Visual C++ and we have extensive experience using this language and extensions particularly in DirectSound, UDP networking, and streaming audio
* Our products are all real-time, "man-in-the-loop" simulations, so we understand what real-time means
* Most of our applications that support our core software is written using LabVIEW
* LabVIEW allows us to quickly create an application that is very modular and reusable while making user interface design simple
* We also have experience with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems, particularly the Dialogic series of telephony boards
* In 1999, we developed an IVR product - that we still maintain - that couples IVR to a MySQL database to generate web reports
**Electronics**
* We have built several USB-based circuit boards that combine digital/analog I/O with USB audio
* We have modular audio circuits that accommodate many different styles of microphones, speakers, and headphones
* We draw our schematics and layout the PC boards using PCAD
* The PC boards are printed by a reliable vendor and sometimes we populate low-run boards ourselves (we have surface-mount and thru-hole capabilities)
* Typically for production runs, a reliable vendor will populate the PC boards for us
* Schematics, parts lists, and source documentation is closely controlled to ensure consistent manufacturing
**Mechanical**
* The company owns a 3-axis CNC vertical milling machine that has a cutting capacity of 20" x 20" x 20". We use this machine to build electronic enclosures and simulated radio hardware
* We use SolidWorks to design the parts in 3D and then use CAMWorks to generate the NC code for the machine
**Voice Talent**
* We can provide voice talent with male speaking voice in English
* Our recording equipment is studio-quality
* We use professional digital audio editing software
* Samples can be provided upon request
