Maintain/improve effective controls over all tax processes. Assist with state registration and related applications. Stay current with tax technological developments to help identify and improve automation and process improvement within the tax function. Use conventional research techniques to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions. Manage a portfolio of tax cases including performing initial client interviews and case investigation. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients leading to a progressive & positive experience. Effectively troubleshoot and research problems to identify solutions for clients as well as external teams. Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally to maintain client satisfaction. Ensure that documentation of client’s issues and resolution are comprehensive and professional. Research and communicate with federal and state agencies regarding client’s tax matters. Provide clients with support regarding the resolution of tax cases. Resolve tax issues with federal and state agencies which shall include but is not limited to: preparing documents for all resolution programs, including Offers in Compromise, Installment Agreements, Partial Pay Installment Agreements, Non-Collectible Statuses, Penalty Abatements, administrative appeals, etc. Release any necessary garnishments, holds, bank levies, or other collection activities.
Ability to represent client in audits with the IRS and/or state. Analyze financial documents and statements. Maintaining and prioritizing workload cases based on urgency while participating in tax projects. Nurturing and developing knowledge about state and federal tax laws as changes occur. Identifying and developing plans of resolution for tax matters. Answer client questions and provide advice on routine tax & business matters.
