Duties: Project Management:
My responsibilities include end to end delivery of software projects according to business specifications. I am responsible for delivering projects within time and budget. I am currently providing tech lead to team of 2-3. From a team management point of view my responsibilities include task delegation, monitoring, mentoring, problem solving, and resource management.
Technical:
I have worked on number of trade-capture and risk-management systems for Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives. My responsibilities are to design, develop and maintain software systems. I have used Java and its related technologies such as RMI, EJB, JDBC and Swing for development. I have used JBuilder, intelliJ and eclipse as development environment. Used Perforce and CVS as source controls. Used JBOSS as application server. Worked with Tibco (Messages Oriented Middleware) and XML for Systems Integration projects. JUnit was used to develop test cases. Used database integration techniques for integrating systems at data level. Currently working on legacy systems integration using web-services.

Worked on number of projects involving live/EOD market data from ASX, SFE and Hangseng. Used VC++, J2EE and SQLSERVER as development platform. Used XML for data transport and transformation. Used UML and design patterns to design the systems.
Project Management:
In last six months of my time at OTS, I took over from the Team Leader at the time and managed the team of 6. My responsibilities included task delegation, monitoring and managing deadlines. I was reporting directly to CEO.
Below is the list of technical projects I delivered:
Project: Designed and developed client software for downloading and distributing End-Of-Day stock Market data on client’s computers in different file formats. Development was done in VC++, MFC, Win32 APIs and GUI development. Developed server-side software that was used by clients for downloading End of Day / Live Stock market data. Used VC++, COM/DCOM STLs and TCP/IP based communication between server and a client, On Win2000 Platform. MS-SQLSERVER 2000 was used for data storage.
Project: Developed a Live interface with Australian Stock Exchange for retrieving raw data from market. It’s a DCOM based System. Sockets, STLs and Win32 APIs were used in the development of the system. SQL Server 7.0 was used for data storage
Achievements: Developed skills of using DCOM effectively. Designed, developed and maintained system with requirement of 99.9% uptime.
Project: Developed a J2EE based services to receive live data from stock exchanges and published it live over the Internet. Clients were developed using Swing. Technologies used were RMI, EJB, JDBC for Database connectivity and Servlets, On SUN Solaris.
Achievements: Used J2EE technologies to develop robust and efficient solutions for real time delivery of live contents of the stock markets to clients. Used UML for modeling
Project: Developed DCOM based software called Broadcaster. This System works as Data Re-broadcasting server for our Clients. This system follows Publish/Subscribe model for sending data to its clients.
Achievements: Developed skills of working with DCOM. Worked on system where reliability and scalability was very critical.
Project: Developed software for getting data from Database and make XML file for our client OneTel.
Achievements: Developed skills of working with XML. Used XML and JDBC related APIs on java (J2EE).
Project: Developed an interface to our ASX Live system to retrieve data for Telstra. The interface was developed on SOLARIS using Forte Developer.
Achievements: Developed skills of working on Solaris operating system. Worked with Forte Developer for C++.
Project: Developed a System using VC++ 6.0 and MS SQL SERVER 7.0. System is responsible for receiving Online/Live data from Australian Stock Exchange (Market Depth, Cores-of-Sales Market News) using Sockets API. And Store this data into database developed / maintained in SQL SERVER 7.0. Achievements: Worked with threading in java. Developed valuable skills of working with Sockets and Applets in java.
