I have an older Visual Studio 2017 C# project which I can compile on my Windows 7 machine and can also run it without problems. But the same .exe does not run at all on Windows 10 - no error, no nothing. I have also compiled the project with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 but it did not help. So I need someone who is more familiar with Visual Studio environment to help me compile it first just to produce a an .exe file that works on Win 10 and then to do the same on my Windows 10 machine (via TeamViewer), so I can compile the new .exe byt myself if any changes are needed.

Before we go any further, this is part of a updater system. It will regularly be used to deploy updated exe files to our clients. We have all heard of WinRAR SFX. Well, it creates false positives in windows defender. and its becoming an issue. Need a solution/alternative.
