We use a patient name and date/time for naming data files. A client in Israel, with the Hebrew character set, saves files fine. Suppose a file is named "ABCD 08/24/04", but the "ABCD" is in Hebrew characters. Using WinXP and VB6 SP3, the CommonDialog open mode displays the file names in Hebrew OK, but upon selecting a file, the .filename is "???? 08/24/04" and thus, the string returned by .filename cannot be used to open the file. When using a FileList box, the displayed file names are filled with "?", even though I've changed the font to Arial (unicode) and the . from 0 to 255.
