This essay is to deal with the historical and theoretical texts , to engage in critical cross-cultural discussion, and to tackle important issues of tradition and modernity in Architecture across the three countries in Asia. (China, Japan and India) Topic: Please discuss how the relationship between the notions of tradition and modernity in architecture in TWO of the three contemporary countries in Asia (China, India, and Japan) has unfolded over certain periods of time, and how these developments in these two countries RESONATE with each other. The essay MUST be based on a selective reading of different historical and theoretical sources of texts. The essay MUST contain examples according to the literature texts. You only have to include sources related to the two countries that you discuss in the essay. There will be 4 sources provided for each. Write the essay based on at least 6 sources of texts that I’ve sent you. (They are all in PDF format )and not unnecessary to have other sources (I'll send you a literature list) Structure the text very clearly into distinct parts with an introduction , main text and conclusion. Make a list of sources and literature at the end of the essay. Always state the source when quote or image. Do not copy! If you are interested, I'll give you the reading list!
