Database Management Systems

Your first step is to identify your project partners (team members 2 to 4 including yourself) and select a topic of database application. It is suggested that you pick an application that you will enjoy working with your group and it has some importance in real world application. Try to choose an application that is based on 5 to 7 relations (tables). Your second step is to design your database using Chen ERD for a conceptual model ERM (Entity Relationship Model). You should certainly include different kinds entities (strong, weak, etc.), relationships ((1:1, 1:M and M:N).), different kinds of data (strings, integers, etc.), and constraints (business rules). Your third step is to use any DBMS, application developing tools/programs, and technologies to build the actual database (relational model) with sufficient make up data and a few applications (queries, reports, user interface for collection of data, etc.) for validation or proof of concepts.
