I've been helping authors put together their stories since 1984 -- more than 60 books.
Before that I was a newspaper reporter for eleven years.
I've published a number of self-help books and your concept is fascinating: Teaching people how to be persuasive. I know I could learn a lot from helping you write this!
However, I apparently don't understand the bid process on Freelancer.com -- since no reputable author is going to write a book worth reading for $60.
What I would bring to your project is experience in storytelling -- which is vital in any book. If you want people to learn, then we must show, not just tell. We do that with true-life stories demonstrating that your concepts work.
What this book demands is an engaging style that will draw readers in, keep them interested until the last page -- and convince them that your techniques will work ... indeed transform their lives.
Where will we get the needed stories? I'll have to get some from you. I'll research others. On a recent book I did, "From Holocaust to Hallelujah," the author thought he'd told his complete story. He just wanted a simple edit.
I glanced over his notes, which described watching Nazi stormtroopers haul away his grandparents, then his family's escape to Berlin where his father chose to hide in plain sight for the duration of World War II. One paragraph described the author's arrival as a small boy at Berlin City Dump, where he played daily. The next paragraph told how glad he was to see Allied planes in 1944.
Well, he'd just skipped the entire war!
My editing his story would have satisfied him, but the finished product was far better after I was able to draw out of him details of what it was like to hide from Hitler Youth as a five-year-old, scavenge for food as a seven-year-old and crawl through bombed-out buildings in search of anything of value as a nine-year-old.
Even so, the book needed a context. So, I brought in text that educated the reader about the holocaust -- as much as possible from a child's point of view, using the stories of other kids who survived the nightmare.
I bring this same skill to your project. I will make this a riveting and convincing book that the reader cannot put down -- as we impact them with a message that will change the reader's life.
