Book Cover Formatted for Novel

Hi Freelancers, We require a graphic designer to format a book cover for us. This job is 85% formatting and 15% creative design. We already know exactly what we want the cover to look like, including html color, font, text, image, and layout. We just need it formatted to our printer’s specifications. The design is fairly minimal. Mostly solid color background. Title on top. Author name on bottom. Image in center. We need formatting for both a paperback and hard cover (dust jacket) copy. We will provide all guidelines and specifications, including spine width, etc. We’ll even give you a template from which to work from. Please keep all of the above in mind when bidding. You will submit the two files to us in PDF format. IMPORTANT: You will NOT be paid until after we receive the physical copies of the book. This is so we can verify you followed all formatting requirements and were honest about your abilities as graphic designer. This process usually takes about 7-10 days from the time the files are submitted. You must be willing to wait 7 -10 days to be paid without leaving negative feedback regarding the rating of our ‘payment promptness.’ We do not consider this project complete until after we receive the physical copies from our printing department. We welcome milestone payments. Please do not be afraid to ask for a milestone. We believe in fair wages but, as this job is mostly formatting and all required materials will be sent to you including a template, we are looking for highly competitive bids. The lower your bid, the more likely you will be awarded this project. That said, we are also looking for an experienced graphic design willing to accept feedback if we require any changes to the cover prior to submission of the final file. Therefore, the lowest bid will not necessarily be the winner. We MUST be able to see a sample of your work prior to accepting your bid. Please include samples of your previous work in your bid or direct us towards an online portfolio. We are not a self publishing author. We are an independent publisher with a handful of titles coming out this year. If we like your work and your price, we will hire you again.
