We want to create a generic autocomplete combo box control for use with infopath forms. The control will connect to a secondary data source which could be an embedded xml file or webservice. As the users type into the combo box, they will view suggestions for words that start and/or contain those letters and will be able to select those. As an example, if the data source contains the following values - ABCD,BCDE, CDEF, ABDE. As I type C in the box, it will show me the first 3.. then when I type B, it will only show me first and last. Once a value is selected, a rule will run a query to retrieve other values for selected value.

hi, i did the same work before. that is a .net control. when user input the [login to view URL]'s similar to google search [login to view URL] will show the words contain what user input below the combo box. the data shown is got through web [login to view URL] web service will call the remote .aspx which get the data from database. anyway,it is also simple to get from the xml file. i hope i can help you.
