Applet development

The aim of this project is to develop Java applets within an html environment. These are to be embedded within an online homework marking application for the site 2ticks.co.uk. These applets will be used within the html worksheets. These worksheets are electronic mark sheets set by the teacher and designed by admin. Teachers set worksheets and pupils access these worksheets from their desktop when they login to the 2ticks site. Some 400+ html worksheets have been developed and some now need to use applets which pupils will use to determine answers which pupils then enter on the html worksheet answer sheet. The applet will consist of two parts. The admin area is where I can place the object to be measured, edit/save/delete and the worksheets area which displays the object to be measured in the applet window within the html worksheets. Drag, drop and manipulate tools are required. The input data entered by the pupil for marking will be paced within the worksheet area and not within the applet. I need a system which enables me to manage applets; up to 50 may be designed, with possibly 100 concurrent users accessing the site over the web. Initially we are using rulers, next will be protractors and other tool may be used required at a later date. This project will start with a simple ruler. Pupils will login, open the worksheets and where there is an applet within a worksheet us the pickup ruler to measure the lengths of lines and sides of shapes.
