Data Mining/Aggregation

Our company aggregates data from a variety of sources, but primarily data mining on the web (i.e. scraping web pages). We have a third party software application that allows for the creation of custom "Agents" which will go out to a particular source, scrape, parse and normalize the data, then inserts it into a RDBMS. Each agent generally takes a day or two to build, and can require maintenance if the layout of the source site changes. We're looking for someone to create agents for us, to be paid either on a per agent (data source) basis, or per group of agents. The minimum requirement for this project is a single agent in working order; however, the vendor that provides the most agents of the highest quality will be selected for a long term contract to provide agents. Accordingly, there will be multiple winners for this bid. We will train for free on our current application (knowledge of HTML, Javascript and SQL are prerequisites), but would also be open to candidates utilizing new tools or solutions. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform HTML, SQL and Javascript essential if using our tool; not required for parties using their own data mining tools.
