calendar widget integration

Current site accumulates a list of event dates passively as users navigate among event pages, then maintains a list of recently-visited events in a sidebar box. ? See [login to view URL] Users are suggesting converting the current layout from a list to a calendar. ? There are many javascript or PHP calendar widgets out there, so I'd like to start with one of those and integrate as follows: - PHP would supply list of bookmarked events to invoke/present the widget - Users would be able to navigate the calendar and see each event details pop up over its date. - only function allowed for users would be Delete, which would callback via the Ajax interface. Otherwise, requirements are simply that this use a pre-existing, preferably open-source widget (javascript or PHP) that is light-weight/small, and that layout fit the current style (325x325)? When responding please indicate which widget you'd use.
