Create Custom Color Picker/Custom Design Element for Retail Site (non-Flash)

I am working on a client website (it will be a WordPress site). The client designs and makes custom baseball gloves. We are looking for a tool that will allow us to have pictures of the 4 to 8 kinds of gloves that they have and then have the client choose the element that they want to change and then have that element change color based on the client’s selection. The concept is very much like this site: [login to view URL] As the client chooses the element (palm, piping, lacing, etc), and then choose the color, the elements will change so that they can see what their custom glove will look like. When done, the customer can then click ‘add to cart’ and the item will be added to their shopping cart and they can continue to make a payment via PayPal. The client would like this to be a non-Flash element, however, everything that I have seen with this type of customization is done in Flash. Please let me know if there is a way to do this non-Flash (HTML5… jQuery?). He wants this to be able to run on Apple products (iPhone, iPad, etc.).
