Desktop Application for Trucking Industry (DOT Compliant)

The purpose of this application is to serve the trucking industry, specifically drivers that are actively working the roads, and must be DOT (Department of Transportation) compliant. The application will focus on two areas, the “Trip Report?? and the “Daily Log?? ??" refer to <[login to view URL]> and <[login to view URL]> as these are similar applications. Each user interface found within the application should be straightforward and simple to use. A trucker’s primary interest will be in quickly recording and accessing information found within the application and returning to their primary trade ??" delivering goods via truck or tractor trailer. Intricate user interfaces will be undesirable to the target audience. The application will come translated in both Spanish and English. Users will be able to switch between translations with a simple toggle. When Spanish is selected, all message boxes, screens, labels etc. will appear in Spanish. The same will hold true for English when English is the selected language. Should developer / contract be unable to create in Spanish, our company employees by-lingual programmers. Note, the language translation should be held in a master database table so that other languages can be added as / when needed. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform The application will be configured to work with Windows operating systems, Windows 2000 and higher. E-mail interface will require the presence of Outlook or Outlook Express (comes with Windows).
