Custom RPIMUD Engine

I am looking for a coder able to code a Role-Play Intensive Multi-User Dungeon (RPIMUD) from scratch, based largely on a highly modified existing DikuMUD codebase which can be used for reference, but not for snippets, due to the restrictive licensing agreement of the DikuMUD software. Additional modifications will be made to tailor the new codebase to the DEAD6 RPIMUD theme. The coder can write everything from scratch, or begin with a non-restrictive license codebase such as SocketMUD or NakedMUD to take care of the socket network code. I'd prefer to work with someone familiar with MUD programming who will be able to work on this project for the long haul. In addition to the initial salary, the coder will receive royalties from the pay-to-play operation of the DEAD6 RPIMUD. As the ONLY sci-fi RPIMUD, and the only commercial RPIMUD, this project has great potential and the RPIMUD Network currently has more than 650 registered members who are following the development and design of this project. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 4) Installation and configuration of server-side software. ## Platform This software will need to run on a linux server with connections from users accepted via basic telnet.
