ABA Routing Tool

I am writing an app in VB 2008.? This program is database driven, allowing access to a master Database [located on a server], via a subscription based membership manager php script. Initial activation requires subscriber to enter username and password into a dialog box. Program pings membership manager to see if account exists, and set to "current".? If current, unlocks the programs features, allowing downloading of the database from the server, converting it to an encrypted file, and saving it into the program folder for the program to use. If a subscriber becomes inactive,[cancels, expires or fraud], the program locks up & reason displayed. Upon booting [once a day basis if booted several times], or during specified time frame [say 24 hr. periods if running continuously], and an internet connection exists, the program will ping the membership manager script behind the scenes to see if user is registered AND still active. If not, user is warned and all features lock up until active again. There will be Database record searches and retrieval functions as well that need to be coded, as well as exporting the database to other formats [eg. .xls, .mdb, .txt, .xml, and .sql] for use outside of this program. There is more, but this is a brief outline of the project.? I have most of the GUI's built already, but still working on some other aspects. ## Deliverables There are some items, - Login Information is retained in INI file and recalled for ping or downloading purposes and to check on subscription status -? Adding a progress bar for when a database is being downloaded from the server with separate dialog box that includes Connecting..... Connected.... - Downloading...... Finished! - Downloads should be saved in a temp folder until completed, then encrypted and re-written over old database to prevent corruption.? Before re-writing, database must be closed, then re-opened and counters and version number refreshed. - Trap for when server is down, or no internet connection available. If unable to ping for? 48 hours, or 10 boots, program is locked until subscription verification can be obtained & user prompted to connect. - adding code to update # of? records in database on status bar [record count feature] - converting database to different formats, printing results from search.? - Displaying database Version on Status Bar - Displaying when last database update - Including installer/uninstaller.
