A Microsoft Excel 2003 plugin must be developed that will allow the user to traverse a text file and update the STATUS field of the active worksheet based on information from the text file.? ? THIS WILL BE A MAJOR FACTOR IN DECIDING ON A BIDDER. *** ## Deliverables This project calls for a VB.Net addin for Excel to be created, and added to the Main Menu bar. The user should be able to update the status of applications by selecting the menu item called "Update Application Status", which will cause the program to traverse a text file to get the status of the application and update the STATUS column of the worksheet. The attached file named [login to view URL] includes the necessary Excel worksheet and sample project showing the data already loaded into the DataGridView. The following functionality should be added to complete this project: 1. Check to see if a column named "STATUS" exists in the active worksheet. If not, prompt the user to ask if the column can be created. If the user chooses "No", then exit since the STATUS column can't be updated if it does not exist. 2. Read the entire active worksheet into a DataGridView, then display the dataview form to the user. 3. Add filtering capability. The user will not be able to edit records in the DataGridView, but will be able to filter records on any column. Make sure that any records filtered in the DataGridView must also be filtered in the open worksheet. 4. This project will use a proprietary system to get application status information. However, for the purpose of this project testing, the included text file named "[login to view URL]" must be read to get the application status based on the "AU Id" field. For each AU Id in the Excel worksheet, get the status from the text file and enter it into the STATUS columns of the DataGridView and the worksheet. 5. Change the font color to green the entire row of each application whose status is "COMPLETED", and red for the entire row of each application whose status is "INCOMPLETE". 6. The data form must appear on top of the open worksheet, and the user should not be able to edit the worksheet while the form is visible. But, the user should be able to switch to other applications if needed. 7. Complete the status bar and progress bar to be updated appropriately.
