From what I can tell you are doing it correctly, but there are also a number of possible ways to do it so i can suggest other methods to achieve the same goal. Hi, Ok....a couple things...... First off, MS Word has limitations on the size of an image inserted, so that has to be looked at. Regarding the 'fading' you see when it is inserted as a background, that is only temporary for on-screen. If you look at print preview, you will see the full color image. Unfortunately, that fading onscreen (when using insert background) is not adjustable. Honestly, there really is no problem if printed to PDF. The file will appear as a clean, crisp document with no fading. It is just when you view it in Word that it will happen. The only other option is to **not** place the image in the background, but as a front element. Following that, you could place text fields over the image.
