create a query of XML data to return data to SQL or Excel 2010

I have an API via PHP. the result set is too unruly for me to hand off to a coworker and expect it to be readable useable. I'd like to be able to run a query to return all items in the XML store or enter a very long list of items and have the result set from the XML store. The items need to be listed line by line. The list will eventually be be in excel format so I can work with the data. however a query to get the result set would suffice. I can copy and paste the data to Excel on my end. An example sheet has been added to the listing. The goal is to get the data for the description_sim field (item number) all on one row so it can be more easily sorted and then used. The result set will be thousands items (thousands of rows) The attribute name (pim_attribute_name) should be the column header and the attribute value should be the column value and so on in as shown in the excel sheet. there are numerous pim_attribute_name and values so hard coding the attribute name as each column could be problematic. I've moved some of the columns in the desired result set example to help show what I expect the result set to look like. If you have questions please post them.
