How children are abused
Children regardless of their age ,race, sociology economic status or religion have their rights which try to safe guard their existence and provision of care .Grown ups especially the parents ,teachers ,guardians and significant others must ensure that children’s rights are observed following the government guidelines. When child rights are safeguarded it makes it possible for them to realize their full potential in life. Despite the existence of children’s Act 2001 treaties and declarations on child’s right children abuse is in increase in Kenya they have been abused both psychologically and physically by the adults .Their chances of being safe and health of development into adulthood have been threatened.
Ways in which children are abused .
According to the constitution of Kenya child is any person below 18 years unless under the law “majority” is attained .Abuse is any harmful act committed against the rights .Child abuse is any act or intention to treat children badly directly or indirectly .The following are some of the ways in which children are abused.
• Corporal punishment
It is still evident in schools.
