Task: Domestic Stair Design You are required to learn the basic elements of CAD (Computer Aided Design) during weeks 2-9. After the initial introduction to CAD the rest of the sessions will involve you designing and detailing a domestic staircase. The staircase must: 1. Follow the Building Regulation requirements i.e. treads, risers, nosing’s, handrail etc. (Part K) You are expected to:  Detail the staircase on both the ground floor and first floor plans provided. Existing doors and walls are fixed and should not be altered or moved.  Add the staircase design to the section provided (in elevation form). 2 Plans (Ground Floor + 1st Floor) and 1 elevation/section to be drawn on CAD. This forms 15% of your Portfolio grade. You must include:  Dimensions  Annotations  Labelled stair numbers  Short stair specification (to justify that you have designed your stair to meet current Building Regulation requirements and you are using appropriate materials, INCLUDING 2R+G Calcs)  Scaled viewports on appropriate pages/sheets with title blocks. (A3)
